We started by managing app purchases at the district level and found that each grade level had different instructional needs and focus. It made more sense to manage at the school level, so grade levels at each school created their own school based accounts. An administrator in each school is the program facilitator who approves educational apps (both free and fee-based) through an app requisition form (school templates attached below) Once approved, the administrator purchases the apps, downloads the spreadsheet with codes, and distributes one activation code to lead teachers, who manage classroom carts of iPod touch or iPad devices. The additional codes are kept on file for proof of purchase in the event of an audit.
